General job description:

Addionics is looking to employ a R&D facility assistant to work on the development of electrochemical methods for fabrication of battery components. This work will be carried out within the offices based in Central London and will also involve collaborations with various industrial partners as well as with Addionics’ team in Israel. 

 

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist the R&D team with day to day tasks. Carry out experiments and batch production of samples.

  • Operate and maintain various scientific equipment 

  • Follow procedures and protocols for fabrication process steps

  • Troubleshoot fabrication process issues

  • Keep accurate records of all undertaken work and results.

  • Communicate the progress and data analysis in the form of technical reports

  • Extract information from scientific databases, articles, and discussions with senior members of the team.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant working and safety standards.

  • Developing of standard operating procedures.

 

About you:

 

You should enjoy working in the lab, be able to follow guidelines and instructions, have suitable dexterity and be well familiar with wet chemistry processes and electrochemistry. You are expected to learn fast from team leaders and build upon existing knowledge and skills in the company but will have the chance to build on your own knowledge and execute increasingly complex tasks. 

 

Experience and qualifications:

 

  • BSc or similar in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.

  • Knowledge of electrochemistry and electrochemical methods.

  • Experience of working in laboratory environments

  • Ability to analyse experimental data

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Understanding of good laboratory practices

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
